Co-founder and Director of Sustainability at Waste Not Consulting, Ashlee brings over 11 years of experience in waste diversion and reduction for commercial properties and businesses. She specializes in creating, executing, and overseeing sustainable waste management programs that prioritize environmental consciousness and fiscal responsibility. Ashlee is passionate about educating and speaking on topics related to zero waste, waste reduction, and waste elimination for clients and organizations. With a strong commitment to diverting waste from landfills, she has successfully developed and implemented over 200 waste stream management programs and conducted waste audits for more than 20 million square feet. As a TRUE Advisor, Ashlee helps clients achieve TRUE Zero Waste certification by reaching a 90% diversion rate of materials from landfills.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ashlee is committed to promoting greater environmental awareness on an individual level. Drawing from her family's multi-generational commitment to waste reduction, Ashlee has a deep understanding of sustainability that transcends time. She is dedicated to practicing what she preaches, as evidenced by her efforts to have Waste Not achieve its Green Business Program Level TIER 3 Innovator Certification in 2023.
Ashlee holds a Masters of Science in Environmental Studies from CSU, Fullerton and earned a Sustainable Practices professional certificate from San Diego State University.
Co-founder and Director of Operations, David brings over 10 years of experience in account management, customer relations, and commercial property inspections. He directs and monitors onsite operations and helps customers to track trends, identify problems, and develop effective solutions. With his extensive network of vendors he directs all specialized waste operations including hazardous waste, construction and demolition, tenant move-outs, and more. In addition he utilizes his building inspection experience and legal education by conducting and overseeing site surveys to ensure that clients are in compliance with OSHA, municipal codes, and environmental regulations. David holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Nevada in History (Pre-law) and Justice Management, and has studied Environmental Management at the University of California, Irvine. david@wastenotconsulting.com
Stephanie Morris, Sustainability Coordinator, is a second generation San Diegan, ‘Recycle Lady', worm mom, food waste fanatic & reusable cup collector. Stephanie’s upbringing in a family of green thumbs established a relationship with nature early on. This grew into a personal passion for zero waste practices while earning a degree & teaching credential at San Diego State University.
Post-graduation, Stephanie taught K-6 and led a student/parent ‘Green Team’ in Encinitas, California. A summer job at Jimbo’s in 2018 became an opportunity for a career. Stephanie became the grocer’s first Sustainability Coordinator in 2020. Stephanie brings both her experience preventing waste in the retail-grocery space and her education background to Waste Not’s diversion programs and zero waste consulting projects.
Stephanie finds joy in exploring the wide world of "waste", connecting with nature, and believes everyone is an environmentalist in some shape or form. She can often be found enjoying local food and drink, beach-combing, shopping small, and volunteering with local nonprofits.
Mia is the administrative assistant overseeing accounting and client onboarding at Waste Not Consulting, while managing financial operations such as payables, receivables, and invoice auditing. With a passion for numbers and a meticulous attention to detail, Mia ensures precision in our clients' financial obligations. Additionally, she excels in providing excellent customer service. Embracing sustainable waste practices as a way of life, Mia brings a holistic approach to her role. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from California State University, San Marcos and is in the process of pursuing a graduate degree.
Daniel is responsible for visiting properties and conducting site surveys to ensure that operations are running efficiently. He also installs and maintains monitoring equipment, coordinates with tenants and porters, and conducts special removal services such as hazardous and electronic waste. Daniel has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Amherst College where he was also a kicker on the football team.
